Police chief admits following Brithotties porn account 'not appropriate'

The Head of Armed Policing in Scotland has been accused of "sending the wrong message" to female recruits after it emerged he publicly follows a range of porn accounts on Twitter.

Superintendent Tony Beveridge admitted his social media use was "not appropriate" after it was discovered he was following a string of porn accounts on his public Twitter account, Daily Record reports.

His internet use was deemed to be "not appropriate" after the Daily Record found him to be following "Chavbabes" and "Brithotties".

The Twitter porn accounts post pictures of young women, often naked or in compromising positions, with some offering pay-for-porn services.

Police Scotland were informed about Beveridge following the accounts and confirmed that while the accounts were run legally and safely, his actions "were not appropriate".

A firearms police cop, who has served with Police Scotland for almost two decades, told the Daily Record Beveridge’s conduct is "disappointing” for a senior officer.

The cop claimed it would discourage women from joining the firearms department and said the accounts "stand in the face" of what the force is trying to do.

Beveridge took up the job of Head of Firearms at Police Scotland earlier this year and Daily Star Online attempted to approach him for comment on Twitter, but it appears he has deleted his Twitter account.

They told the Daily Record: "The women on the force have been seeing the new boss for the whole of Scotland follow these accounts on Twitter.

"There are very few women in firearms and with the amount of kit and the macho image, trying to recruit women is difficult.

"We are trying to encourage women in and, if they see that, how will they feel?

"It stands in the face of what we are trying to do."

The accounts Beveridge followed both offered an OnlyFans and AdmireMe.VIP subscription service where webcam services were on offer.

A user can set the price, and then perform sex acts on a live video stream, or post sexual videos and images to subscribers that follow.

Chavbabes is the avatar for an account called HLMOfficialUK, which is run by a young woman with links to her AdmireMe.VIP page.

She charges £6.50 per month for nude pictures and special gifts, but there is no evidence to suggest Beveridge used these paid-for services.

Chief Superintendent Louise Skelton, Head of Specialist Services, told Daily Star Online: "This is not a criminal or conduct matter, however the officer involved recognises that his actions were not appropriate."
