Paige Spiranac rival Katie Sigmond told she is a '12/10' after showing off golf swing

October 2024 · 3 minute read

Paige Spiranac’s closest rival Katie Sigmond impressed fans with her golf swing.

New golfing influencers seem to be popping up like Starbucks stores, but Sigmond is often regarded as being the closest competitor to the Colorado native. The 20-year-old has 3.2million followers on Instagram, just 500,000 short of Spiranac.

Very few are able to get close to Spiranac, who currently holds the enviable title of most socially engaged star in golf, as well the accolade of being Maxim’s 'sexiest woman alive' in 2022. However, Sigmond proved why she is so close to overtaking the former professional.

As well as looking very glamorous, Sigmond uploaded a new video on her TikTok of her expertly thwacking a ball into the distance with great power and grace. Despite the fact her swing looked as smooth as silk, she still captioned her upload with “lil rusty.”

“I play golf and I don’t get as far as that,” one fan wrote, alongside a stunned emoji. “Beautiful swing,” a second supporter added. A third fan then wrote, “that was smooth” before a fourth admirer seemingly bypassed the swing by stating “I’m in love” - it’s possible they are one of the first to stake their claim in her comments section with every passing post - while a fifth said she was a "12/10".

If Spiranac’s previous opinions on other golf influencers such as Grace Charis and Bri Teresi are anything to go by, then she will not be threatened by Sigmond’s growing popularity. However, the 30-year-old did admit, she would appreciate it if any up and coming stars in her field try to be original in their posts.

“They say that imitation is the greatest form of flattery so I am proud to be an inspiration for all of these women,” Spiranac said on her Instagram story in April. “They've seen me be successful and they know that if they copy exactly what I'm doing or follow in the exact footsteps of the path I've built for myself that they will also be successful and we have seen that. But that's pretty cool.

“It shows how powerful my brand has been that if they do copy everything they will also be successful. I will say that I do value creativity and I wish that it wasn't copied exactly from the exact outfit to my hair to the captions to how it's shot.

“It would be nice if there was a little bit of a difference and I think it would be more beneficial for them to be different and not have it be exactly the same.”
