Sloan filed documents on Monday in Los Angeles.
They couple wed in May 1998 and went on to have two children together: daughter Jamison, 18, and son Jared, 16.
Jennifer was his third wife.
He was married to Marjorie Bransfield from 1990 until 92 and to Sandra Davenport from 1980 until 1988.
Jim has always had a stable career.
Like his brother John, Jim starred on Saturday Night Live. His stint was from 1983 until 1985.
He had a smash hit with the TV series According To Jim which was on the air from 2001 until 2009.

His new show Salvage pairs him with Toby Kebbell and Charity Wakefield. The show centers on ex-cop Jimmy Hill (Kebbell), who just wants to be left alone after moving back home to rural Florida. But when a local murder is linked to the sunken treasure of a lost Spanish galleon, he’s drawn into the investigation by an idealistic deputy and pitted against the powerful town patriarch, outside criminal agents and his own father.
Belushi also has a big movie career.
He appeared in The Ghost Writer with Ewan McGregor in 2010 and Joe Somebody with Tim Allen in 2001. His biggest hits were K-9 and Mr Destiny.
Last year he made Wonder Wheel with Woody Allen.
