An Australian foodie has shared his easy and delicious recipe for healthy KitKat bars that only uses five ingredients and is completely vegan and gluten free.   

Cookbook author and Instagram-famous chef, Arman Liew, who goes by The Big Man's World online, demonstrated how to make homemade KitKat bars in a video posted to TikTok

In the clip, the Melbourne chef said he was 'obsessed' with KitKars bars so created his own 'healthy, homemade' version using dairy-free chocolate chips, coconut oil, peanut butter, maple syrup and gluten-free Chex cereal.

Arman transfers the mixture into a baking tray lined with parchment paper and puts it in the fridge for at least an hour until it is firm.

Recipe: Five-ingredient, vegan, gluten-free KitKat bars

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups chocolate chips of your choice 

1 cup peanut butter

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

 1/4 cup coconut oil 

3 cups Rice Chex cereal (you can use any Chex cereal of your choice)

Method 

1.  In a microwave safe bowl or stovetop, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter, maple syrup, and coconut oil and heat until melted

2. Remove from microwave/off stove and whisk until completely incorporated

3. Add the Chex cereal to the bowl with your melted ingredients and stir to combine 

4. Line a 8x8inch deep dish or deep baking tray with parchment paper and pour the mixture in

5.  Refrigerate until firm - at least an hour. 

6. Remove and cut into bars

Arman's clips has racked up more than 116,300 views since it was posted last week with many viewers saying they're keen to try the recipe for themselves.
