The first Monday in May should have seen some of the leading tastemakers celebrating the connection between fashion and time at the Met Gala.
Instead, former guest Brie Larson had to satisfy herself with an awkwardly timed throwback selfie from her appearance at the 2017 edition.
The 30-year-old Captain Marvel star reposted a selfie taken after she stopped by the bathroom and got swept up in a Kim Kardashian–led mass mirror selfie.
Surprise entrance: Brie Larson, 30, commemorated the postponed Met Gala on Monday with a throwback post of when she got stuck in a Kardashian–Jenner clan selfie at the 2017 edition
Brie was a last-minute interloper in the photo, which was snapped by Kylie Jenner, so she looked comically cramped off the the side and just above model Slick Woods' shoulder.
'Seems like we're having a #MetBall throwback moment today so I'd to take this time to remind everyone of the year I was trying to wash my hands in the bathroom and ended up in a Kardashian selfie,' she wrote in the caption.

On the way up: Brie's Met Gala appearance came a year after she won the Oscar for Best Actress and two years before she starred as Captain Marvel in the billion-dollar grossing film
Brie's infamous selfie came at a turning point in her career after she'd received bounteous critical acclaim for her roles in Short Term 12 (2013) and Room (2015), the latter of which earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress.
Buoyed by her new status, she took on an ensemble role in the rebooted Kong: Skull Island (2017), directed her first film, Unicorn Store (2017), and joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Captain Marvel, whose eponymous 2019 film earned more than $1.2 billion at the box office.
She'd go on to have a small but pivotal role in Avengers: Endgame, and she's reportedly set to lead a revamped Avengers force when the remaining superheroes regroup.
