Myra Delores Jones

Myra Delores Jones, 83, entered into eternal rest on Feb. 19, 2024 in Laurel. Born on Oct. 18, 1940, Delores lived a life marked by gratitude, a deep respect for all of God's creation and an unwavering faith. 

She was a dedicated member of her church, Kingston Assembly of God, where she had served as a Sunday school teacher and church secretary.  

Delores was blessed with a loving family and leaves behind her devoted husband of 65 years Orlan Jones; her cherished sons Robin (Donna) Jones, Rusty (Amanda) Jones and Ryan (Danielle) Jones; her beloved daughter Nancy (Dwayne) Brashier; her adored grandchildren Andrew (Morgan) Jones, Tyler (Shelby) Jones, Lauren Brashier, Autym Brashier, Ridge Jones, Callie Jones, Colin Jones, Mary Ryan Jones, Macayla Johnson and Landon (Ashley) Johnson; her treasured five great-grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces and nephews. 

She has been greeted into the Kingdom of Heaven by her mother Bernice Powell Evans; her father Ralph A. Evans; her sister Edythe Lynn Lofton; her brother Robert A. Evans; and her grandson Austin Dwayne Brashier. 

Visitation will be held at Kingston Assembly of God on Sunday, Feb. 25, at 1 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. Family visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. A graveside service will be at Union Line Cemetery in Soso. Pastor Kade Pierce will officiate with special remarks and words of comfort from Pastor Jason Pool and Kenny Smith. Memory Chapel of Laurel has been entrusted with the arrangements. 

Pallbearers will be Tyler Jones, Andrew Jones, Rusty Jones, Robin Jones, Ryan Jones and Ridge Jones. Honorary pallbearer will be Colin Jones.  

The family extends a special thank you to Delores’ wonderful caregivers and friends for the love and care that they provided. 

We give thanks for the life of Myra Delores Jones, a woman of grace and dignity, and we find comfort in the knowledge that she now rests in the arms of our Creator. May her soul be at peace in the everlasting light of God.
